Working for Trinity Academy Akroydon

Trinity Academy Akroydon aims to provide the best possible education to our students. To do this, we want to attract and retain the best possible staff to work in a committed, passionate and dedicated team.

Akroydon is a two form entry school and we have a nursery, this enables us to provide quality education for children throughout their early years until their next stage of education. Our Forest School offers a unique learning environment in our community and underlines our commitment to our creative curriculum. In each stage of learning we ensure that children are educated in an environment that is inspiring and nurturing so that they can achieve their true potential.

Trinity Academy Akroydon joined Trinity MAT in February 2017. We have benefited greatly from being part of Trinity MAT, in our first full year in the trust we have improved our headline measure (percentage of pupils achieving ARE in RWM), by 37% (from 25% to 62%).  These outcomes make the academy the second most improved primary school, out of more than 100, in Calderdale.

As a growing academy we can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).  As a two form entry primary school we benefit from a staffing structure that can offer leadership development and career progression opportunities.

The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focused on improving outcomes for our children. As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Akroydon is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust.

Our weekly CPD sessions are delivered as a whole academy, in curriculum or key stage areas, and are an invaluable opportunity for whole staff development. This CPD package provides opportunities for academy leaders to deliver CPD sessions, as well as benefiting from sessions led by professionals from specialisms across the trust.

Our academy community is nurturing, inspiring and offers a culture where children achieve. Our staff team are determined to help each and every student reach his or her potential during these crucial formative years.  Our pupils are caring, welcoming, respectful and take responsibility for their own behaviour. We work closely with parents and carers to develop these important values along with the core academic skills children need to succeed.

We look forward to receiving your application form and our website shares more about our vision and values, but the best way to experience what Trinity Academy Akroydon has to offer is to pay us a visit and come and meet our staff and wonderful pupils.
