Healthy Eating

We understand the importance of healthy eating and a balanced diet in making sure our pupils are ready to learn and children have the option of dinners at the academy or bringing a packed lunch.

Our lunches are provided by an external supplier, and cost £2.30 per day. Options include sandwiches, a choice of hot meals and desserts, including fruit. Menus work on a three week rolling programme, and include a Halal menu. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request. Please note menu cards are sent home in advance for children to make their choices and are payable weekly on a Monday.

Lunch is eaten in the hall in one of four sittings, and children who bring in a packed lunch also eat in the hall. Parents are asked to support our approach to healthy eating if their child brings a packed lunch, and to help us meet health and safety requirements by ensuring that children do not bring hot food or drink in flasks and that drinks are sent in unbreakable plastic containers.

Milk and snacks

Milk and a healthy snack are provided for children during their time in Nursery and Reception.

Children in Key Stage 1 are provided with a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day.

Please note that children are not allowed to bring their own snacks to the academy.
