Want your child to be guaranteed a place at Trinity Academy Halifax? Enrol your child at Trinity Academy Akroydon before 19th July to guarantee them a place at our Ofsted Outstanding secondary school.
How do I make an in-year transfer?
Parents and guardians with children resident in Calderdale should make an online application to Calderdale Education Department. The application will then be considered at the fortnightly North Halifax or Central Halifax BAC panel meeting.
Parents of children resident outside Calderdale wishing to apply for a place will need to submit an application to their home local authority. For more information about Calderdale Council’s admission process and key dates, visit Calderdale Council.

Trinity Academy Halifax
Trinity Academy Akroydon is the exclusive feeder school to our heavily oversubscribed, Ofsted Outstanding, and World Class secondary school. Enrolling your child in our primary school before 19th July guarantees them a place at Trinity Academy Halifax.
Trinity Sixth Form Academy
Additionally, Trinity MAT boasts a prestigious Sixth Form located in the heart of Halifax town centre. Trinity Sixth Form Academy has an exceptional record, with graduates securing placements at top universities including Cambridge and Oxford. All students from Trinity MAT secondary schools receive priority consideration for our post-16 option.

We’d love to welcome you to Trinity Academy Akroydon!
We can take up to 30 children in Reception. Parents wishing to apply for a place in Reception should complete the form online at the Calderdale Admissions website.
How to apply
Reception applications were open from 17th November 2023 until the 15th January 2024. If you have any questions regarding your application, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
If you’d like to move your child to our academy, please look at our in-year transfers section.
STEP 1
Click APPLY NOW to begin your application process which will be carried out via the Calderdale Council website.

STEP 2
Set up an account on the Calderdale Council website.
You are required to set up your account before making your application choices. Keep your login information safe for the future as you will need this to find out what school your child has been allocated to.
STEP 3
Choose your top 5 primary schools and order them from your first choice to your last.
We recommend putting 5 schools on the form as this will give you a greater chance of getting the school you want. If you’re accepted to more than one school, you will receive a place at your preferred school – i.e. your first choice.
- Remember to check that all 5 schools are within your catchment area.
You can view or amend the online application throughout the preferencing period.
STEP 4
Reception places will be made on National Offer Day, 16 April 2024.
If you apply online (via the instructions above) you will receive an email with your child’s offer on National Offer Day. If you apply any other way, you will get your offer via post within a few days after the official offer day.
Trinity Academy Akroydon follows the Calderdale Admissions Policy and associated oversubscription criteria.

The '50 things to do before you're five' suggests activities that are low-cost /no cost experiences that include indoor, outdoor, seasonal, home-based and out-and-about activities, that are not only fun but will support your child with his/her learning and language development.
