Welcome to our Nursery!
Choosing the right nursery or pre-school is an incredibly important decision for every parent. Here we have included information to give an overview of what our Nursery can offer and help give an insight into what you can expect for your child.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your requirements or have any questions about the Nursery and your child’s pre-school education.
Our Nursery offers a wonderful play-based, nurturing environment where children thrive on the exciting and interesting activities they undertake. The children get used to new routines, make new friends and acquire the basic skills they need to become school ready.
Our outdoor provision is second to none. We have our very own Forest School safely within the school grounds, which the children absolutely love!

Attending our Nursery is an excellent introduction to school. The Nursery follows the same routines our Reception class, making transition to ‘big school’ much easier.
We provide a broad pre-school curriculum based on free flow play both inside and out, including our unique Forest School provision.
The Nursery has an experienced Early Years leader and Teaching Assistant who facilitate play-based learning, incorporating an introduction to early Maths and literacy helping children attain the basic skills to be school ready.
As children advance into their primary education an important consideration is their next step. Our Nursery children usually progress into Reception at Trinity Academy Akroydon, which is the only primary school that feeds directly in to the outstanding Trinity Academy Halifax.

Hours & availability
We offer up to a maximum of 8 spaces in a session and provide up to 30 hours of Nursery Education. Children may attend our morning and/or afternoon sessions which are all 2.5 hrs long, subject to availability.
The academy allocates places in the Nursery. Parents wishing to apply for a place in our Nursery should contact the academy as soon as possible in order for their child to start in September. Please note that children are admitted to the Nursery in the school year in which they become four years old.
All parents of children to be admitted to the Nursery are invited to a open evening giving them and their child an opportunity to visit the Nursery before admission. This may need to be virtual depending on circumstances.
We offer 15 hour or 30 hour places, which are based on parent income. You’ll need to expect to earn a certain amount over the next 3 months. This is at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week on average. If you have a partner, they’ll need to expect to earn at least this much too.
